Who is Chappo? 

Our principal guest will be John Chapman from New South Wales, Australia. Chappo is an excellent and engaging speaker with a gift for putting over challenging ideas in a way that is easy to understand and relate to. He really is Too Good To Miss!.

Here is a little bit of information about his background so you can look forward to meeting him at the festival.

Before being ordained John Chapman was a Manual Arts teacher in several High Schools in NSW.

John was ordained as an Anglican Minister in 1957 and served in the Armidale Diocese for 12 years. He received his first invitation to preach overseas in 1965.

Since then he has attracted large congregations in places as diverse as London, Vancouver, Karachi, Hong Kong, Brussels and Dallas.

John was the Director of the Department of Evangelism for the Anglican Diocese of Sydney from 1969 to 1995. Each year he preaches over a wide area of Australia and regularly accepts overseas engagements.

He has written three books, Know and Tell the Gospel, A Fresh Start, & Setting Hearts on Fire. The booklet What is a Christian has sold more than a million copies.

John enjoys playing tennis and golf and watching any sport.

Since 1990 John has been a part time lecturer at Moore Theological College and the Sydney Missionary and Bible Training College.
